1) Here is one of the notes in my study Bible concerning 1 and 2 Kings:
Together [1st and 2nd] Samuel and [1st and 2nd] Kings relate the whole history of the monarchy, from its rise under the ministry of Samuel to its fall at the hands of the Babylonians.
2) Jesus quoted Psalm 118:22 as referring to himself.
