Weekend Adventures - Part 2

Yesterday morning, the wife announced that we would "be getting the tree today".

There was some discussion about how the 90lb dawg, this being his first "official Christmas", would react to a Christmas tree seeing as he has been He**-bent on uprooting all living things in the yard lately.

There was some discussion about whether we should mop and dust the house first.

There was some discussion about logistics, and supplies for the festivities.

And off we went.

First to Target for some lights, then to Lowes for the tree. We bought the first tree we put our hands on - total time searching for tree? 1.5 minutes. It is always this way for us. In 16 Christmases, I think the longest it has taken us to get our tree was 30 minutes (and that was only because we went to a tree farm and spent the better part of half-an-hour hacking the thing down).

We headed for home where I commenced with the putting up of the backyard lights. Yes, we put lights in our backyard (We put them in the front yard too but the backyard lights stay up year-round).

The wife went to the store and came back with this!:

And THIS!

And one of THESE!

And the fixin's to make a home-made batch of THIS!
And a home-made batch of THESE!
We got the Wassail simmering, the Christmas tunes playing, the wife whipped up a batch of gingerbread and I stood-up the tree.
So while for the next few days the kitchen table might look like this:

The back yard looks like this:

Christmas is coming . . .
