From Today's Reading: Psalm 6, 8-10, 14, 16, 19, 21, 1 Chronicles 1-2
Who can discern his errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.
Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then will I be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Point of Interest:
It is believed that the book of Chronicles was written in the latter half of the 5th century BC - 450 years after the reign of king David occured.
Chronicles was written after the nation of Israel had returned from a period of captivity in exile. As the nation stuggled to find meaning for their place in the world and in relation to God, the author of Chronicles (believed by some to be Ezra) recounted some of Israel's history to help them find their bearings.
Much of the content of Chronicles comes from the books of 1st & 2nd Samuel and 1st and 2nd Kings and so is considered a supplement to these four older works.
