Photo Shoot

A couple of weeks ago, I received an e-mail from a friend I hadn't spoken to in over 20 years. Seems she had found the ole' blog and had been following along for a couple of months. We had a great time catching up on the phone and then she e-mailed me with an idea; why not have Holly do a professional photo-shoot to record the Anna-belly? Seems my friend had done it when she was pregnant and was very gratified and thankful that she had - my friend even offered to pay for the shoot.

I was skeptical that the wife would go for it as she has been a little self-conscious (understandably) and the two of us seem to been in a constant state of overwhelm-ness lately; so I was surprised when the wife said, "Yes". My friend got in touch with the photographer who immediately said she would do the shoot for free.

We met Ashley Macnamara and Kristin Rachelle at the Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach just before sunset yesterday evening. All I can say is, "wow". Okay, I can actually say more than that.

These two ladies were so fun and so encouraging and so positive that the whole experience was a blast from beginning to end. They had ideas for shots and locations that we would have never in a million years thought of. We had so much fun that at one point the wife and I turned to each other and it felt like the first real date-night we had in a long time. It felt so great to just celebrate this stage in our pregnancy and the miracle it entails.

The gals shot photo after photo until we ran out of light and they ran out of memory in their digital cameras. We can't wait to see the results!

I highly recommend that you visit both their sites and take a look around:

Here is Ashley's Home Page and I just had to point to this shoot of a gal with her dawg.

Here is Kristin's Home Page with a sample of some of her work.

If you are in need of a professional photographer, I would highly recommend that you give both of these gals a call. They clearly love their work so much that it makes you love working with them.

Seriously. Good. People.
