From Today's Reading: Judges 3-7
The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD; . . .
The anger of the LORD burned against Israel so that he sold them into the hands of Cushan-Rishathaim . . .
when they cried out to the LORD, he raised up for them a deliverer . . .
Once again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, and because they did this evil the LORD gave Eglon king of Moab power over Israel. . .

Point of Interest:
Judges 4-5 chronicle the "Judgeship" of Deborah - a woman who led Israel around 1209-1169BC. Contrary to popular belief, the Bible is replete with women of strength who rise up to save and/or lead the nation in times of trouble.
