Club Foot Update - 12/18/08

As I mentioned last week, the Doc agreed to come in early to change out Annabelle's casts this week so that we could make our plane flight.

The wife was up until 1 am packing on Wednesday. I went to bed at 9pm and was up at 3am to finish up.

Everyone was in the car at 7am and it was off to Children's hospital.

In this photo, you can see that Annie's feet are looking pretty good in terms of being straight ahead as opposed to being curled inward.

Baby fat sort of moves around in response to pressure so her feet are all puffy right now . . .

Here you can sort of tell that Annie's left foot is progressing a little better than her right foot. Also, because of the angle of Annabelle's right foot in this photo, you can see how her toes are pointed downward like a ballerina. A minor procedure will release some tension in the back of her ankles and allow her toes to come up.

As the Docs were putting on the new plaster casts, Annie somehow got plaster all over her hands and proceeded to get it on her face and in her mouth before anyone caught what she had done. The doc reassured the wife that it was about the equivalent of eating paste in pre-school . . .

It sounds as if the Doc is going to do some xrays on the 31st or possibly the week after to examine the bone structure of Annie-Lu-Who's feet and we are eager to get the results.
