Bill Lobdell is a columnist for the LA Times. His current assignment is a series of columns entitled "Living Vicariously in LA". The premise is, he heads out into LA and spends time experiencing life in someone else's shoes; he tries being a life guard, being a botox patient, and recently, a conservative talk radio host.
I was pleased to see that he chose the Hugh Hewitt show for his talk-radio experiment. Hugh turned over the show to Bill for one hour the other day and the predictable train-wreck ensued. The interesting part is the behind-the-scene video of the workings of the Hugh Hewitt show.
Hugh is one of my favorite talk-radio hosts and it is fascinating to see the pathetically uninspiring studio from which he spins his craft. Man, I don't know how the guy does it.
